Public Service AI Excellence Awards Nominations Thank you for your interest in nominating a project for the Partnership for Public Service AI Center for Government® Public Service AI Excellence Awards! The Public Service AI Excellence Awards recognize public sector AI projects and use cases deployed to make government more effective, responsive and accountable to the public. The awards are designed to elevate practical, real-world implementations, across U.S. federal, state and local departments and agencies, that measurably improve how people interact with government. Examples might include AI implementations that reduce wait times, simplify access to services or information, improve the accuracy and timeliness of agency responses or increase the ability of agencies to meet constituent needs at scale. To be eligible, projects must be actively deployed by a public sector agency/department in the U.S. and in use at the time of nomination. The deadline for submitting a nomination is Monday, July 20. Winning project teams will be notified in August 2026, and the Awards will be publicly announced and presented at the Public Service AI Summit in Washington, D.C., on November 17, 2026. Submit a Nomination Frequently Asked Questions Can I review the list of questions on the nomination form before filling it out? Yes. You can access the questions here. What levels of government are eligible for the award? All levels and types of government in the U.S. are eligible: Federal, state, county, city, municipality, tribal and territorial. How can I share supporting materials? We’re unable to accept file uploads directly through the nominating form, so we suggest uploading materials to your file storage system and generating a shareable link to include where requested on the form. Alternatively, you can email attachments to [email protected]. Please put “Public Service AI Excellence Awards” in the subject line and include the name of the nominated project. Does the project have to be public-facing, or can internal tools be nominated as well? Both public-facing and internal tools are eligible, but projects should be able to demonstrate a clear benefit to the public. Can vendor-built or purchased tools be nominated, or only in-house builds? Tools built in-house and/or by a vendor are eligible. Does the project need to be publicly disclosable? Yes. Award-winning projects will be featured publicly at the Public Service AI Summit and on the AI Center for Government website. However, projects with minimal disclosure limitations may also be eligible. Is there a minimum length of time the project must have been deployed? No, but projects must be in use and should be able to demonstrate a measurable benefit to the public. Can I nominate a project from another department/agency, or only from my own? Both are allowed and encouraged. What if I’m nominating someone else’s project and don’t know all the details? That’s okay! Please complete as many fields as possible and, when prompted, submit contact information for someone who can provide the remaining details. Our team will then follow up with the listed project contact. Can I submit more than one nomination? Yes! In fact, we encourage it. Do I need formal evaluation data, or is qualitative evidence acceptable? Qualitative/anecdotal is acceptable if formal evaluation data isn’t available. What is the nomination deadline?
