Future Leaders in Public Service Internship Program

Our nation’s ever-evolving challenges make it imperative that governments identify, recruit and retain the next generation of public servants.

The Future Leaders in Public Service Internship Program helps bring a range of young talent into government and offers students the opportunity to apply their educational training to work at a government agency. This program prioritizes the design and implementation of paid internships that provide students with valuable work experience, an expanded professional network and a better understanding of the importance and impact of public service.

During the application process, students may select their first and second choice tracks from a list of seven offerings, including Public Interest Technology and AI. This track may include a focus on operations, technology-focused policy, AI policy, design, writing, editing, program management, data analysis, entrepreneurship or stakeholder management.

Undergraduate, graduate and professional students from across all academic disciplines are welcome to apply, but candidates must be interested in technology innovation and harnessing the full potential of technology and AI for public good.
